Iron Sharpens Iron - Especially in Your Home Business

There is an old Proverb that says, " As iron sharpens iron, so does one man sharpen another. "  This is so true in life, especially in building a home-based business.  Network Marketing is all about teamwork, coaching, and leading others.  It is not about managing and supervising others.

Charlie "Tremendous" Jones says, " Who you will become in the next five years will be a direct result of the books you've read and the people you've associated with. "  The truth is that the people we associate with are either doing something for us, or they're doing something to us.  They either encourage us toward our goals and dreams, or prevent us from reaching them.

• Are the people you associate with sharpening your skills?
• Are the people you're associating with sharpening your vision?
• Are they sharpening you're tenacity?
• Are they sharpening your leadership ability?
• Or, are they dulling it because of their inability to expand to your level?

Surround yourself with leaders who will encourage you and help sharpen your skills.  Find a mentor.  Seek out a leader in your organization.  It is also important for you to be the leader to your networking organization.  Be the leader who is always sharpening those around you.

The Tip Of The Iceberg - Building A Successful Home Business

I have had the pleasure of working from home and seeing my home business explode - even in a recession or a difficult economy ( whichever term you wish to use ).  A lot of people ask, "What are you doing?"  The answer is simple - I am becoming a master of the fundamentals, and I apply them on a consistent basis.

Have you ever noticed how you only see about 10% of an iceberg above the surface of the ocean?  Yet the bulk of the iceberg is beneath the surface.  When you begin to master the fundamentals and you apply them day in and day out, your business will grow.  To some people, it will look like it happened overnight.  They will ask you how you grew your business so fast.  They are only seeing the 10% above the surface.  They are not seeing the growth, the struggles in your business, the work you poured into your organization.

See, the 99% of the iceberg below the surface is you laying the foundation of your home business by mastering and applying the fundamentals.  So what are the fundamentals?  Prospecting, presenting, and following up with people. 

Become a master of inviting.  Invite people to a 1 on 1 presentations, a webinar, a home meeting, an opportunity meeting, a 3 way call, take a look at your company DVD or other tools.  Just invite, let the tools do the presenting, and then follow-up.  This is all the stuff people don't see.  You do this day in and day out.  If you consistently do the right things long enough, your business will explode.
